Nagano Station is a railway station shared by the East Japan Railway (JR East Japan), the Japan Cargo Railway (JR Cargo), the Shinano Railway and the Nagano Electric Railway. It is also located in Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. It is an important station of the Hokuriku Shinkansen.

For the traditional route, except for the Shin-Etsu Main Line and the Kitano Line, the JR Toyama Line train from the Tono Station starts from Shinano Station and passes the Kita Shinano Line and JR East's Shinano Line. The Shinano railway line was originally part of the Shin-Etsu Line, which is the middle station of the Shin-Etsu Main Line.
